Laparoscopy is a surgical procedure where surgeons can access the inside of the abdomen and pelvis without making large incisions in the skin. It is minimally invasive performed using a laparoscope. There is a small tube used as the source of light and a camera that clicks images of the inside of the abdomen and relays them to a television monitor. The advantages of Laparoscopic Surgery over traditional surgeries:

  • You don’t have to stay inside the hospital longer.
  • The recovery is much faster than your expectations.
  • There is less pain minimal loss of blood during the surgery.
  • Reduced scarring as needed by everyone.

Laparoscopy can be used for a variety of purposes like removing a damaged organ and taking a sample of the tissue for further testing, mainly in the biopsy. The best use of Laparoscopy is identified in three medical areas:

Gynaecology

It is used to diagnose and treat conditions related to the female reproductive system.

Gastroenterology

It is used to diagnose and treat conditions related to the digestive system.

Urology

It is used to diagnose and treat conditions related to the urinary system.

At Cribs, we perform Laparoscopic Surgery under general anesthetic and you won’t feel any pain during the procedure. We will make one or multiple incisions inside the abdomen as per the medical requirement. It allows inserting a small surgical tool, laparoscope, inside your stomach and a tube can be used to pump gas into the abdomen. It will allow surgeons to look around and operate conveniently.

Once the procedure is complete, small incisions are stitched and closed well. Usually, you may go out the same day or you have to stay in hospital overnight. There are no or little complications associated with the surgery and it can be done by a general surgeon as well.
